Alex Kocoves – CEO and Chairman of the Board
Alex has worked in the financial services industry for 35 years, starting with GLP in 1986. As an agent he was mentored by founder, Gerald L. Pollack and quickly moved up to developing and managing the agent training program. Alex became Executive Vice President in 1991 and CEO in 2009. As CEO of GLP, Alex truly leads by example. He is genuinely invested in all clients wellbeing and has their best interest at heart, a quality that he has instilled in all of the agents he works with. Alex’s passion for helping people and making a positive impact in their lives is undeniable. His dedication to his clients, outstanding leadership and vast knowledge of the financial industry has continued to make GLP what it is today and why it continues to see such substantial growth.
Matt DeSantos – President
Matt has worked in the insurance and financial services industry for over 25 years. He has been President of GLP Financial Group since September of 2017, he is responsible for leading strategy, driving business and building effective teams across the GLP family of companies. Matt’s extensive knowledge comes from working in numerous leadership positions for a variety of Life Insurance and financial service organizations. His career accomplishments include leading teams to meet and exceed both their sales and financial goals, growing life and annuity business through independent marketing organizations as well as developing new markets, overseeing marketing support functions and establishing internal sales support and new business development initiatives. Matt holds a Juris Doctorate, Law from the University of Baltimore School of Law, as well as a BA, Political Science and Government from Stonehill College. Matt resides in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan with his family.
Heather Lyon – Chief Operations Officer / Chief Compliance Officer
Heather has over 25 years of experience of industry experience in all facets of the business. As Chief Operating and Compliance officer at GLP Investment Services, she is responsible for running the operations, compliance and technology segments of the business, driving growth for the organization and its representatives. Prior to her current role, Heather was the CFO/COO for another full-service Agency from 2018 to 2019. Previously, she served in several leadership roles for a national insurance company, Broker Dealer and Investment Advisory Firm where she drove change in business process and launched a representative support model that helped more than double the Firm’s representatives’ satisfaction levels. Heather is an instrumental part in taking our business to the next level for our Clients and Representatives.
Heather has her Series 7, 24, 27, 63 Licenses.
Michael McEvilly – Executive Vice President of Business Development
Mike has over 30 years of experience in financial services and wealth management. He came to GLP in 1995, where he has held many positions over the years and is currently the Executive Vice President of Business Development.. As EVP, Mike works closely with other business leaders to establish retirement and wealth management plans for their employees. His love for this industry and helping educate people for their financial future is why Mike has been a long-standing pillar of leadership with GLP for almost 3 decades. Mike and his wife are lifelong residents of Metro Detroit.
Tom Willms – National Director of Fixed Insurance Agent Development
Tom has 2 decades of experience in this industry and working with GLP Financial Group. Before Tom was the National Director of agent development, he spent 14 years working in the field as an agent. He learned the importance of making connections with his clients and helping families achieve their financial goals. His priority now is working with agents daily, providing them the support they need with client relationships, training them on new products and helping them grow and cultivate their business. When Tom isn’t working with agents and clients, he spends his time with his wife and 14-year-old son.
Tom’s Licenses held are Life, Series 6 and Series 63
Jeremy Bobby – Director of Fixed Insurance Sales
Jeremy has been working in sales for over 20 years and started with GLP in 2016 as the Director of Sales. Prior to working at GLP, Jeremy held several Sales Director roles in the mortgage and financial industry. His focus at GLP is working closely with fixed agents, motivating and guiding them through the day-to-day business. Jeremy enjoys working with agents and having a hand in impacting their careers and lives both financially and personally. Jeremy spends his time outside of work enjoying life with his wife of 15 years and 2 daughters.
Adam Szlamkowicz – Director of Insurance Solutions
Adam has spent the last 20 years in sales working on growing companies in the telecommunications field. He started at GLP in 2017 as the Director of Recruiting and transitioned to Director of Life Insurance in 2019. Adam is so enthusiastic about his work because he enjoys helping families and individuals understand complex solutions in protecting their family and business. Adam resides in the Metro Detroit area with his wife and 2 children and is passionate about supporting Charities in the Metro Detroit area and giving back to his community.
Drew Kocoves – National Recruiting Director
Drew has been with GLP Financial Group for 6 years now, starting as an intern in 2014 he quickly climbed the ladder to becoming The National Recruiting Director in 2019. While Drew’s main focus is recruiting, he still loves working with clients, helping them find the right retirement solution that best fits their needs. When Drew isn’t working with agents and clients at GLP, he is enjoying time out on the golf course and hockey rink.
